AEM Annual Consensus Conference
Academic Emergency Medicine (AEM)
The AEM Consensus Conference is held each May, the day before the SAEM Annual Meeting. The proceedings from the conference, as well as original research on the topic, are published in the November issue of AEM as a Special Topic Issue.

The process for the development of the AEM Consensus Conference begins with a "call for proposals." The deadline is usually around April 1 (13 months in advance of the conference). Proposals are reviewed on a competitive basis and the selected topic is announced by the AEM Editorial Board in May. A program chair and planning committee are developed.
